HEAT RECOVERY UNIT BY RISE

The research team at RISE has finalised the construction of the Heat Recovery Unit (HRU) prototype. It is a small scale unit designed for the project to allow a proof of concept with a scrubber and heat pump for a new application such as the low temperature drying process in DRALOD plant. It is aimed to reuse and upgrade heat from the dryer exhaust air to a usable temperature for heating supply air. The system is installed in a 20 foot container with the main components being a heat pump and a scrubber. The system has been constructed in Borås (Sweden) and transported to the DRALOD pilot plant in Spain. Installation works will start soon.
